Case Study : MotoVantage

MotoVantage is a motor insurance company that specialises in offering a full range of service plans, car maintenance plans and financial cover for vehicles. MotoVantage recently moved offices from Sunninghill and Vereeniging to Cresta in Randburg.

The Brief

  • To create a functional, inspirational work environment that caters for the different departments’ requirements within the organisation and for future growth in the organisation.
  • The new space should have an open-plan workspace with collaboration areas to encourage idea sharing and discussions.
  • To create a space that reflects the Motovantage brand and culture.
  • The space should include an exciting entertainment area where staff can enjoy their lunch in a relaxed environment.
  • Create a professional environment that is still fun and exciting to work in.
  • The space should reflect approachability and openness using various design elements.
  • Design an environment that would attract and retain millennial staff members.

The Results

  • The interior has a contemporary and playful yet clean aesthetic that gives visitors and staff a clear picture of the MotoVantage culture.
  • The base finishes scheme has been kept neutral and sophisticated with a white, light grey and charcoal palette, ensuring that the space is timeless.
  • Warm timbers and plants have been added to the palette to ensure that the space is welcoming and comfortable, with patterned accents and pops of colour used to add interest to the design elements and bring in a local flavour.
  • The bright yellow and light blue MotoVantage brand colours have been used to emphasise the vibrancy and hospitality of the organisation.
  • The office layout was designed through careful analysis of the site and structure of the new building. There is a main circulation route indicated with a chevron road marking design that allows easy access to all “pit-stops” and support areas.
  • The large staff café is positioned in the centre of the building with house like structures and design elements to emphasise its purpose as the “Home” of the organisation where people come together.
  • The space represents its South African context using locally sourced designer furniture, fabric and artwork as much as possible.

The Summary

Our objectives to bring to life the MotoVantage philosophy of ‘we are better together’ and create a consolidated home was creatively executed, and MotoVantage can now enjoy an inspired office space that will accommodate their growth potential and serves as a stunning Home-away-from-Home destination for both staff and visitors alike.
